New Idea

     After years of not wanting to hear a word from the Taliban, the Canadian Army is putting out the word that they want to talk according to the Globe&Mail. Finally a good idea, it is always a positive thing to try and speak to your enemies.

     It can definitely not hurt, there has been too much death and destruction in Afghanistan, it is time for some conversation. The conflict situation there has been ongoing for close to seven years and we need a new strategy.

     I watched a documentary about Afghanistan lately and it seems like the Taliban is gaining ground again in certain parts of the country such as Kandahar where the Canadians are based. I believe that it is a very good decision to start talking to them before they take too much control.

      As my readers know I am not a supporter of Canada’s military involvement in Afghanistan, but I am for peace and peace talks.
