Earth Day
April 18, 2008 by Lansdowne Montague
Next Tuesday April twenty-second is Earth Day. Earth day is a day to think about our planet and see what we can do to help it. This first earth day was in 1970 and thirty-eight years later it is even more pertinent.
I have written about the environment on this blog before and as I have stated before I think that the planet seriously needs our help. Since 1970 we have polluted the planet pretty good, and it is not getting better I feel. Sure we can write up environmental accords like Kyoto, but we need to respect them. When countries like Canada and the US do not respect the accords that they help write, we are in trouble.
Developing countries like India and China will not do anything for the environment when they see North American countries not taking the accord seriously. We(Canada and US) need to set an example and then we can make some demands of developing countries to do something as well.
